MoonPay announced on July 23 that it now accepts Discover® Network payments for U.S. users of its platform.
The move lets Discover cardholders in the United States buy and sell crypto across MoonPay’s network of more than 500 enterprise partners, including wallets, exchanges, and applications.
A growing list of options
Discover Network joins Visa and Mastercard as the third major U.S. card network supported on MoonPay’s onramp.
Those card networks sit alongside Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Venmo, bank transfers, and various regional payment rails.
MoonPay was the first crypto onramp to integrate PayPal and Venmo, and the company frames the Discover addition as an extension of that same strategy.
The idea is straightforward: if a payment method has meaningful consumer scale in the U.S., it should work on MoonPay.
What Discover brings
Discover Network is an international acceptance network that serves cardholders of participating issuers around the world.
It focuses on fast approvals and flexible transactions, aiming to let consumers pay how, when, and where they choose.
Richard Harrison, Vice President of Banking and Payments Partnerships at MoonPay, said:
“Every payment method we add removes a reason someone doesn’t convert at checkout. We’ve built MoonPay around a simple principle: every way people already pay should work for crypto. We were first with PayPal. First with Venmo. Discover® Network is the next step.”
Claudia Schaefer, Vice President of Strategic Client Management for Discover Global Payment Network, added:
“At Discover Network, our goal is to provide consumers with the flexibility to pay when, where, and how they prefer. Through our payment solutions, we empower businesses like MoonPay to deliver a consistently secure and seamless experience for their users.”
