Key Takeaways

  • Winklevoss twins contributed $250,000 each to Trump-aligned PAC.
  • America PAC raised $8.75 million from tech and venture capital executives.
  • Elon Musk denied reports of a $45 million monthly commitment to the PAC.

An elite group of venture capitalists, business moguls, and tech executives, including Gemini co-founders Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, have contributed $8.75 million to a new super political action committee (PAC) backing Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. According to America PAC’s latest filings with the Federal Election Commission (FEC), the Winklevoss twins each contributed $250,000.

Other notable donors include former managing director of Sequoia Capital Douglas Leone, Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale, and Troy Link, CEO of Jack Link’s Beef Jerky. While Elon Musk’s name does not appear on the PAC’s July filings, he has reportedly committed to significant future donations. The Wall Street Journal cited sources familiar with the matter, stating Musk planned to donate $45 million per month to America PAC. However, Musk denied this report with a meme stating “FAKE GNUS.”

Following an apparent assassination attempt on Trump at a Pennsylvania rally over the weekend, Musk expressed full support for Trump’s reelection campaign on social media, writing:

I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery.

In addition to supporting America PAC, the Winklevoss twins have contributed to other super PACs, including pro-Bitcoin PAC Fairshake, to which they have donated around $5 million. In June, the twins announced they each gave $1 million to Trump’s campaign, though part of these donations were later refunded to comply with legal limits on individual contributions.
