Michael Saylor said on Tuesday that Strategy has repurchased another $176 million of its STRC preferred shares, while the company left its bitcoin stack untouched for the week.

Purchases on pause

The announcement contained no bitcoin buying or selling, keeping the total at 845,050 BTC alongside $6.5 billion in USD assets as of Sept. 7.

Strategy also doubled the size of its recently launched Digital Credit Securities Repurchase Program, lifting it from $1 billion to $2 billion.

Its bitcoin position was accumulated at an average price of $75,412 per coin, and with BTC changing hands near $78,200, the company is sitting on an unrealized gain of more than $2 billion.

The stash still represents roughly 4% of the 21 million coins that will ever exist.

Saylor wrote on X:

“Strategy has repurchased $176M of $STRC and increased the size of its Digital Credit Securities Repurchase Program from $1.0B to $2.0B. As of 9/7/26, we hold 845,050 $BTC and $6.5B of USD Assets.”

Buying high after selling low

Last week’s acquisition, which ended a roughly two-month pause, raised eyebrows because it was made at prices above $80,000 while the company’s earlier sales were completed when bitcoin had tumbled to around $62,000.

In other words, Strategy bought high after selling low.

STRC edges back toward par

The repurchases have helped the underlying shares recover.

STRC is meant to trade at a par level of $100 but slid to $75 earlier this summer, before climbing back to almost $98 as of Friday’s close.
