Strategy disclosed another large bitcoin purchase last week, led by Executive Chairman Michael Saylor.

The company said it bought 17,994 BTC for $1.28 billion, paying an average of $70,946 per coin.

Purchase details

Following the acquisition, Strategy’s bitcoin holdings rose to 738,731 BTC.

The company said it has acquired that total position for $56.04 billion, or an average cost of $75,862 per bitcoin.

How it was funded

Strategy said the buys were mostly funded through $900 million in sales of common stock.

It also sold $377 million of its STRC preferred series of stock, according to a Monday morning filing.

Market reaction

MSTR shares were up 0.2% in pre-market trading.

Strategy remains the largest publicly traded bitcoin treasury company.
