What to Bring

Most Bitcoin ATMs require verification. Here's what you'll typically need:

Valid ID

Government-issued photo ID like a driver's license or passport. Required by law for KYC (Know Your Customer) verification at most ATMs.

Mobile Phone

Needed to receive SMS verification codes. Some ATMs also require you to scan a QR code or use their app to complete the transaction.

Bitcoin Wallet

A wallet address to receive your Bitcoin. You can use a mobile wallet app, hardware wallet, or paper wallet. The ATM will send Bitcoin directly to your address.

Protect Yourself from Crypto Scams

Scammers often use Bitcoin ATMs to steal money. Transactions are irreversible. If someone asks you to send money via a Bitcoin ATM, it is likely a scam.

Investment Scams

Scammers pose as investment managers or use fake romance profiles to convince you to invest in crypto. They promise huge returns but steal your deposits.

Impersonator Scams

Fraudsters pretend to be from the government (FBI, IRS), utility companies, or well-known businesses. They claim you owe money or your accounts are frozen and demand payment in crypto.

Job Scams

Fake job offers require you to pay a fee in crypto to start, or send you a fake check to "deposit" and then send crypto back to them.

Romance Scams

A new online love interest asks you to send money or crypto to help them with an emergency or to help you "invest."
